Artisans of the Cumberland taking applicants for revamped fair in McMinnville
November 19, 20 and 21 are the 2009 dates for the 40th annual Artisans of the Cumberland show (formerly known as The Warren County Arts and Crafts Fair). The event, sponsored by Regions, will be held at the Civic Auditorium, 500 Garfield Street, McMinnville, Tennessee.
There will be a Sneak-A-Peek on November 19 from 6-9 p.m. for those wanting to beat the crowd – you can purchase a ticket for $5 of which the proceeds will be donated to Relay For Life. This will be Regions 40th year as the presenting sponsor.
"There is nothing that gives us more pride than our communities,” said Michael Porten, City President for the Area. “We are excited to help invigorate the cities and towns we call home” he said.
Jane Ann Pryor of Regions McMinnville Main Office is this year’s event Chairman.
“We have made some important changes this year,” Pryor said. “We want to expand the participation to our region. We have added live demonstrations and entertainment throughout the weekend. And, we are limiting the number of each type of craft through a Show Jury. Participants will submit applications, pictures and descriptions of their hand-made items. A committee will then determine who is accepted into the show” she said. "Regions is committed to the Warren County area and we want to make the 40th Annual Artisans of the Cumberland the best show in the events history."
